OPTIMISED CRUSHING CHAMBER
Deep crushing chamber design maximises the feed size, capacity and reduction ratios. Large rocks which enter the crusher fall straight into the active region of the crushing chamber. An optimized nip angle ensures the material moves smoothly down through the crushing chamber increasing the productivity and efficient utilisation of the jaw plates. This design improves productivity and lowers the operational cost, per ton.
HEAVY, FULLY WELDED, STRESS RELIEVED MAIN FRAME
The main frame consists of two side plates made of low-carbon steel. The plates are reinforced with ribs and hollow cast elements at the front side of the frame. Large-radius transition areas reduce the stress concentrations. The welds are made in low-stress areas which eliminates the possibility of failure. Thermal stress relief and shot blasting produce a solid one-piece unit and all mounting surfaces are precisely machined to perfectly align the critical components.
CAST STEEL AND PRECISELY MACHINED PITMAN
The pitman is made of high-quality cast steel and is propelled by two massive cast steel or iron flywheels. A very large eccentric shaft and four large spherical roller bearings ensure the greatest reliability even under the most severe crushing conditions. The grease-lubricated bearings are kept free from contamination by means of well-proven labyrinth seals. Cast steel pitman is designed for easy maintenance and can be removed from the frame as an assembly.
CAST STEEL AND PRECISELY MACHINED FLYWHEEL
Large diameter, heavy flywheels provide the necessary inertia for crushing the hardest materials while minimising the vibration. It results in smooth running operation. Flywheel hubs of MEKA jaw crushers are equipped with special locking assembly which connects flywheels to the eccentric shaft. This system ensures that the flywheel is held safely and tightly on the shaft which is important as the crusher must be brought into operation under load, resulting from unforeseen stops.
The main shaft is forged from hardened and tempered alloy steel (chrome-molybdenum-nickel) with particularly large diameters to suit the heavy-duty applications. The shafts can withstand extreme temperatures and provide high fatigue resistance due to a fine finish and elimination of the screw threads.
MEKA jaw crushers incorporate large and sturdy eccentric shaft bearings. Their high load bearing capacity and effective labyrinth seals result in considerably longer bearing lifetimes. Heavy duty self-aligning double row roller bearings on both pitman and main frame absorb the side thrust and heavy radial loads, assuring pitman guidance and constant shaft alignment.
Jaw Plates are manufactured for high performance and low operational costs. High quality material and unique design ensures outstanding durability. The back faces of all jaw plates are machine grounded to provide a firm fit to the body and are fully reversible. Jaw plates can be quickly, and easily, fitted to the crusher body with the help of clamping wedges.
The Jaw Plates are designed for specific applications to provide maximum protection against wear and impacts. Fine tuning for different applications is ensured using a wide range of alternative jaw plate designs. The tooth profiles as well as the thickness of the plates are optimised and combined with the right manganese steel alloys to maximise the output and minimise the operational costs.
The optimal-angle toggle plate generates extra crushing force and at the same time protects the drive system. This type of toggle system gives the following advantages:
- No lubrication is required whatsoever
- The system can handle greater crushing pressures
- Significantly greater life factor of the toggle plate and seats
CSS OPENING ADJUSTMENT
MEKA jaw crushers are equipped with hydraulically assisted adjustment mechanisms. This system facilitates easy and fast CSS setting control according to the required product curve. Several shim plates of different thicknesses is used to fix the CSS setting. The movement of the adjustment block is achieved by means of a hand operated hydraulic pump.
