The Bernardi Impianti patented RAP Ecological Dryer ( RED DRYER ) has been developing using a specially developed internal combustor and lifting / mixing, system to enable the introduction of large percentages ( 40 to 50% ) of Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) without the need for any secondary equipment. RAP can be introduced directly from the cold feed system blended with the virgin aggregates. The special combustor inside the Red Dryer radiates heat to the blend of virgin aggregate and RAP avoiding any thermal shock to the bitumen. The combustor draws in any residual blue smoke produced from heating the RAP to provide a virtually combustible gas free emission. Finally the RED DRYER will produce a blend of coated material suitable for passing across your elevators and screens without the problematic blinding issues.
